Swimming forms part of the Primary PE Curriculum so is an essential part of every child’s learning, therefore swimming lessons will start on Friday 13th September 2019 for our Year 4 children. This will be the last block of 10 swimming sessions for this year group.
Children will be taught in suitable ability groups by qualified swimming teachers and then will return to school by coach. We aim to have the children back by 3:15 pm, depending on traffic and parking at school. If there is ever a delay, this will be communicated via ParentApp.
Sessions will run every Friday from 13th September to 13th December 2019 (with the exception of 25th October, 1st, 8th and 15th November). One class will be collected at 12:30pm, by coach, and the other class will be collected at 1:30pm where they will be taken to Cricklade Swimming Pool.
Because of school swimming lesson safety regulations, girls must wear a one-piece bathing costume, not bikini or tankini. Boys must wear suitable swimming trunks (not baggy, Bermuda-style shorts). Earrings must be removed before the lesson and we would strongly advise that you provide your child with goggles, they will be taught how to use these safely as part of the lesson. As is good practice, children can wear swimming caps if you wish.
The swimming lessons and pool hire are paid for by the school. With regard to transportation costs, we request that parents make a voluntary contribution of £27.50 per child for the 10 sessions.
You can pay in full or, if you wish, you may pay in 2 instalments, each of £13.75, 1st by 11th June 2019 then final payment by 1st September 2019. Please contact the school office if you have any issues regarding payment, which will be dealt with confidentially. Please also see school website for details of our charging policy.
Please give consent and make payment (as detailed above) via www.parentpay.com.
