To inspire and support our childrens’ learning in History, Geography and Science, we have arranged a trip to Avebury on Tuesday, 6th June, 2023 for our Y3 classes. We will spend a whole day there, returning by the end of school. The children will learn what life was like in prehistoric Britain, and discover how the Avebury landscape has evolved over the last 6,000 years. They will have a guided tour around the stone circle and have an opportunity to look around the museums to view the collection of prehistoric artefacts. Please ensure your child brings in a packed lunch with a drink in a named rucksack (no cans or glass bottles). Please cancel your hot dinner on Parentpay by 2nd June 2023 . There is a chance that children will be required to carry their bags all day so a sensible rucksack is a priority. Children will need to wear their normal school uniform including trousers for all, and for security reasons, children MUST be wearing a St Francis jumper/cardigan at all times. Depending on the weather, please also bring either a wet weather jacket, waterproof trousers and wellies if wet, or sun cream and hat if hot. It is essential that your child wear sensible shoes or trainers for walking on uneven ground (no sandals). Any medication your child has in school will be taken by us. The voluntary contribution towards the cost of this trip will be £5.75 per child. Please contact the school office if you have any issues regarding payment, and this will be dealt with confidentially. Please also see the school website for details of our charging policy. Please give consent and make final payment via www.parentpay.com by 8th May‘23. If you do not wish your child to participate in this visit, please email us at: [email protected] but please be aware that your child must still attend school on that day. If you are able to volunteer to support us for the day your help will be gratefully received. Please let us know if you would like help.
