What time does the school day start?
For Reception – Year 6 the school bell rings at 8:47am with lessons starting at 8:55am.
For Nursery the morning session is 8:30am till 11:30am. The afternoon session is 12:20pm till 3:20pm.
What time does the school day finish?
For Reception – Year 6 the day finishes at 3:15pm (Except for the end of Term 2, Term 4 and Term 6 – Times will be published in advance).
Can my child have a cooked lunch?
Yes, children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 currently are all entitled to a free school meal. Children from Year 3 – Year 6 can pay for a hot meal. All children’s meals must be ordered through ParentPay. If you think your child might be entitled to a free school meal and is in Year 3 to Year 6 please speak confidentially to a member of the admin team.
What After-School clubs are run?
Members of staff run after-school clubs in Terms 1&2, Terms 3&4 and Term 5&6. These vary from term to term.
What should my child bring with them to school?
Your child will need to bring their book bag containing a reading book, reading record and full water bottle. During the summer term, children are expected to have a hat for break times and a small bottle of suncream in a labelled plastic bag.
Why does my child have a purple PE T-Shirt?
Our school has four ‘houses’ for inter-school sports competitions, sports day and house points. This instils our children with a sense of teamwork and community. Purple is for Avebury, red is for Bowood, yellow is for Longleat and green is for Lydiard.
How do I pay for school trips?
School trips can be paid for via ParentPay.
